Elegant, French-inspired Hunt Country wedding

This French-inspired wedding at Goodstone Inn was an all-outdoor affair. The decor was timeless and elegant, with French-blue and white accents throughout. It rained in Middleburg, VA for WEEKS before their wedding day, so we were worried that it would rain that day. We crossed our fingers hard and it ended up being the most BEAUTIFUL day of the year – like unforgettably beautiful!

A beautiful day, surrounded by close friends

The getting-ready moments with Carey and her bridesmaids during this Goodstone Inn wedding were so special. The bond between these friends was visible and the looks on their faces when they saw Carey in her gorgeous, lace Lazaro dress was priceless. Instead of your typical flower girl, the couple chose to have their sweet dog, Odette, at the ceremony, which just melted the hearts of the guests as she was escorted down the aisle by one of the bridesmaids. The crowd consisted of mostly close friends and the ceremony was officiated by Blake’s Best Man.

An unforgettable Goodstone Inn wedding in the beautiful outdoors

It was honestly one of my favorite weddings of all time. The Hunt Country wedding was adorned with twinkle lights, lavender, and lemons. The outdoor furniture consisted of dreamy blue couches and white chairs, french tables, hurricane candles, and greenery – completed with a stunning ivy wall. The reception was al fresco, which means to dine out in the open air. It took place during sunset and the meal was long and unrushed as the guests indulged in a French-inspired vegetarian buffet complete with macarons and croquembouche – a French dessert made of pastry puffs piled into a cone and laced with threads of caramel.

A grand sparkler exit to finish off the night

The couple danced to All of Me, by John Legend, which was sung by one of the bridesmaids while Carey’s brother-in-law played the guitar. The photos we took during sunset were absolutely stunning. The light hit just right and I had the insane privilege of capturing their love on camera as we chased the beautiful sunset. The night finished with a sparkler exit, with the largest sparklers I have ever seen. I had such a blast being a part of Carey and Blake’s special day!
