A paradise wedding: Errol Barnett’s Jamaican Wedding
This was one of those rare weddings where the beauty of the people and the resort spoke for itself – beautiful, sparkling, glowing, picture-perfect. Errol Barnett and Ariana Tolbert’s wedding was one to remember. I had the privilege of photographing the entire weekend festivities including the rehearsal dinner, the wedding, their just-married session, and a special boudoir session. I felt honored to capture every aspect and emotional part of their wedding story.
The couple kept their decor natural and simple. Ariana’s mother’s dress was, by far, the best mother-of-the-bride dress I’ve ever seen. I love how it complimented the blush colors, which made a big difference in how beautiful the getting ready photos were. The location was breathtaking – a white sandy beach, palm trees, the smell of the ocean, and the sound of the waves crashing up against the rocks – Ariana Tolbert and Errol Barnett’s Jamaican wedding was actually perfect!
A picture-perfect day with a beautiful couple
Errol and Ariana were a stunning couple to photograph. Their storybook love was vivid and undeniable and it was a dream to capture their love. Everything about the day was perfect, but not without improvisation.
Tropical rains hit right when we were supposed to do the first look so we moved all of the furniture from their villa to one side so we could do their first look under a roof, out of reach from the rain. It ended up being my favorite first look location of all time, with the beautiful white curtains and distant views of the water. The rain cleared up just in time to take family photos right before the sunset ceremony on the water.
Ariana’s sister officiated the ceremony and there was hardly a dry eye amongst the guests when the couple exchanged their handwritten vows. It was the most magical ceremony of all time because the glow of the sunset was incredible, and a crane landed in the water and stayed in the background the entire time!
A small and intimate wedding at Round Hill Hotel & Villas
Errol Barnett and Ariana Tolbert chose to have an intimate beach wedding at Round Hill Hotel & Villas in Jamaica (fun fact: JFK and Jackie honeymooned there!). They chose Jamaica as their venue location because Barnett’s grandparents, on his father’s side, are from there. They moved to England as part of the “Windrush generation” after WWII because his Jamaican grandfather served with the Royal Air Force (RAF) at the time. There were around 40 guests in total and Errol’s family and friends flew in from London.
There was a fun mix of people from both the US and the UK and let me tell you, they knew how to have a good time! I had a blast capturing dance moves, conversations, tears, and laughter all day long and into the late evening. The oceanside reception was adorned with lanterns and string lights. Ariana changed into a beautiful BHLDN evening gown and the dance floor was packed the entire night. Those Londoners knew how to dance, ESPECIALLY Errol’s mom! I think it’s safe to say that Ariana Tolbert’s and Errol Barnett’s Jamaican wedding was absolutely magical!
